Domestic Violence Batterers' Intervention Program (DVIP)

At Choosing To Change, we are committed to creating safer communities by addressing and preventing domestic violence. Our Domestic Violence Batterers' Intervention Program (DVIP) is designed to help individuals who have been involved in abusive behaviors toward their partners, family members, or loved ones, with the goal of promoting lasting change, personal accountability, and healthier relationships.

Program Overview

The Batterers' Intervention Program is a structured, evidence-based intervention aimed at reducing and eliminating abusive behavior. Our program focuses on helping participants understand the root causes of their actions, challenging harmful core beliefs and attitudes, and fostering personal responsibility. We work with participants to identify patterns of abuse, explore the impact of violence on victims, and promote the development of respectful and non-violent ways of managing emotions and resolving conflicts.

Core Objectives

Accountability

Participants are encouraged to take full responsibility for their actions and the harm caused by their abusive behaviors. This is an essential step in breaking the cycle of violence.
